Liesder Mayea is an Associate Professor and Program Director at the University of Redlands. He has publications such as: Contexts for Don Quixote and Quixotism: Beyond Hero or Fool, “The Future of the Latin American Nation State,” and “Un análisis de la representación y falta de representación del sujeto subalterno femenino u ‘otro’ en los Comentarios reales del Inca Garcilaso de la Vega.” He has also finished editing a book on methods of teaching Spanish to second languange learners. His research analyzes the transition between the Medieval and Golden Age periods, and the changes in Spanish literature and art during this age of great activity in the artistic production of Europe. He embraces various methodologies without adhering to any specific one, always, however, emphasizing the traditional humanistic and socio-historical approaches to the texts. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and other honor societies.
